A Journey to Mogadishu
The unprecedented drought in the western region of Africa in 2001 caused lack of water and food for almost 12 million residences in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Uganda and Djibouti in Horn of Africa. In two regions in the South of Somalia being controlled by Al-shabab, a militant group related to Al-Qaeda, almost 3 700 000 suffered from famine. In addition, 30 years of war in Somalia worsen the situation even more for the inhabitants. Saeed Faraji is an Iranian photographer whose photos mostly focus on the worldwide crisis, and has published his book personally after visiting Mogadishu. The book illustrates his journey to Mogadishu in which people are suffering from war and famine. The book contains 50 black and white photos along with captions.
