I am an amateur photographer, I live in the Strasbourg region and I mainly practice nature photography, both landscape and macro photography. However, I regularly make incursions into urban photography and street photography, most often at nightfall.
Aube monochrome
Black and white and macro photography, two apparently irreconcilable worlds that I have attempted to bring together. Black and white has never lost its appeal and, in my view, allows for a visual simplification of my pictures; in short, it is the art of reduction. It is also an emotional choice that seems to go automatically with certain atmospheres, but not necessarily with macro photography; and that is precisely where a photographer has to find the right subject and the right light so that black and white can express itself fully to produce this unreal vision of things. Black and white captures the light of the early morning, accentuating lines and curves and creating a poetic, abstract dimension. This is an aesthetic and artistic choice: a philosophy that requires a particular thought process. I wanted to escape the maze of colour and offer a monochrome take on macro photography and the ambiences of early morning.

Quartier de lune
Une fin de journée d'hiver, en passant en voiture dans le quartier du port du Rhin à Strasbourg, j'ai découvert une ambiance magique. Il faisait déjà nuit, un brouillard épais commençait à recouvrir tout doucement le port, et dans divers endroits je voyais des gens qui travaillaient à la lueur des projecteurs. Mon sujet était là... Des dizaines de sorties ont été nécessaires pour coucher sur le papier cette atmosphère qui me plaisait tant.
